JASON JONES

Jason
  • Jason was 4 months old in 1976 when he started going to work with his mother, Beth (Jones) Julian at Arizona Gymnastics Academy (AZ Twisters).
  • He continued to spend his time at a gymnastics school when she started her own gym (Solar Gym) in 1978.
  • Jason competed for the AZ Flairs for 3 years and went on to use his gymnastics background in diving and later to gain varsity letters in football, wrestling and pole vaulting at Westwood High School.
  • He graduated from Westwood in 1994 and went on a two year mission to Chile for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 1995-1997. Jason attended MCC, coached with his mom and laid tile until the fall of 1999 when he and his mother opened Olympic Gymnastics. Jason took over directing and ownership of the business in 2004.

BETH (JONES) JULIAN

Beth
  • Beth started in gymnastics at age 7 after five sets of stitches and breaking her nose 3 times. Her mother was trying to channel Beth's fearless behavior into something productive.
  • She trained with Olympic Bronze Medalist, Ed Gagnier, competing for 10 years, 3 nationally, gathering many awards and titles along the way. She started coaching at age 12 under Coach Gagnier's supervision. She has now been coaching for over 40 years.
  • Beth graduated from high school in Ames, IA and went on to attend both Iowa State University and Arizona State University.
  • After moving to AZ in 1974, Beth worked for Good Shepherd's Gymnastics, Scottsdale Gymnastics and then AZ Twisters until she opened Solar Gym in 1978.
  • Beth has 4 children, Jason (31), Keith (28) and twins Demarie and Jesse (18). In 2004, she married Kim Julian who is a realtor with Remax Power Real Estate.
